Meet Fiona – HC Financials Mortgage Expert

Fiona Mc Mahon is Senior Mortgage Advisor with HC Financial in Oranmore, helping people secure their mortgages for nearly 20 years.

Originally a  native of Corofin, County Clare, Fiona made her home in Galway with her husband Declan and two young boys Devin and Ewan. Outside of work and family Fiona loves traditional music and dance or supporting her boys at Salthill Devon FC.

Fiona built up her wealth of experience working as Branch Manager with PTSB Lucan and Sherry Fitzgerald before joining HC.

A busy working mum who only recently moved house herself, she understands first-hand the stresses faced by so many today, trying to get on the property ladder or work through the complexities of mortgage rates, application forms and what is more than likely the biggest financial investment of your life.

Fiona shares the mortgage journey with her client from the time they come in the door. “You get to know the client on a very personal level, their hopes and their challenges because buying a home is such a personal thing”. “Recently a young couple came to me, both on good salaries, paying extremely high rent and bills but fearful about the whole mortgage process, we looked at potential repayment options, which worked out much less than their current outgoings and they were so relieved to see it was all possible.

Fiona also works with a lot of Ex Pats, people currently working abroad but wishing to come home eventually and buy a house back in Ireland. It is particularly challenging for those buyers as different rules apply regarding tax and deposits etc. Buying a home is difficult at the best of times but if you are across the water or on the other side of the world you really need someone you can rely on in your corner.
